Building the next generation of athlete brands with AI at the core
Every student athlete dreams of turning their talent into opportunity. But in the Name, Image, and Likeness era, athletic skill alone doesn't cut it anymore. The real game-changer? Building an authentic personal brand that resonates beyond the field.
When Andre Ramsey, founder of MyNIL Brand, approached us, he had a clear vision: democratize personal branding for student athletes at every level. Most athletes lack marketing expertise, don't know where to start with social media strategy, and can't afford expensive brand consultants. Meanwhile, the NIL opportunity window is narrow.
"We go beyond the jersey to create a lasting impact for every athlete," Andre explained. "Our human-centered approach ensures athletes are prepared and confident in building their brand before pursuing NIL deals."
The challenge wasn't just technical. It was deeply human: How do you guide someone to discover their authentic voice in a noisy digital landscape? How do you protect minors while giving them creative autonomy? How do you motivate consistent brand-building when the payoff isn't immediate?
The authenticity problem no app was solving
Student athletes face a paradox. They know they need a personal brand, but generic advice like "post consistently" or "be yourself" leaves them paralyzed. What should they post? How often? What voice should they use?
Success in NIL requires presence across Instagram, TikTok, and X. But each platform has different algorithms, audience expectations, and content formats. Athletes struggle to maintain consistent branding while adapting content for each platform's unique requirements. The time investment is overwhelming when balanced against training, competition, and academics.
For athletes under 18, complexity multiplies. Parents need visibility and control, but athletes still need autonomy to build their own brands. Then there's motivation, but the payoff isn't immediate. Athletes need short-term motivation to stay consistent, and traditional solutions either gamify artificially or provide no structure at all.
MyNIL Brand needed to solve all of this while serving three distinct user groups: athletes discovering their brand identity, parents overseeing minor children's activity, and administrators managing content and competition.
Building a personal marketing team powered by AI
We partnered with Andre to build a platform that would act as a personal marketing team for every student athlete. We selected FlutterFlow for its ability to deliver native-quality experiences while maintaining rapid development velocity. The solution centers on four core capabilities:
- Personality discovery that actually resonates: The Athlete Personality Assessment maps athletes to archetypes inspired by successful professionals, like, for instance: Kobe Briant, “The Reformer: The Disciplined Athlete.” It gives them a framework for understanding what authentic content looks like for their personality type, with the option to retake the assessment three times per year.
- AI that understands context, not just keywords: Built with n8n workflow automation, the AI chat uses personality results, profile information, and recent social posts from Instagram, TikTok, and X via Phyllo. When athletes ask for content ideas, the AI considers their personality type, posting history, and sport-specific trends instead of generating generic suggestions.
- Protection without control for minor athletes: Parents of athletes under 18 receive identity verification, dashboard visibility into their athlete’s profile and activity, permission gating, and subscription management. They gain oversight without content modification access, ensuring protection while athletes maintain creative control within boundaries.
- Gamification that feels natural: The “Starting Five” system lets athletes form five-member teams that compete on leaderboards based on points from educational quiz completion. With a planned one-million-dollar prize for a future version, the experience turns brand-building into collaborative competition aligned with athletes’ existing instincts.
What this means for ambitious founders
MyNIL Brand shows how AI and low-code can turn complex expertise into a product that feels personal, scalable, and genuinely useful. Athletes now get a guided experience built around who they are, how they communicate, and where they want to go.
The platform gives them clarity, direction, and momentum: a personality-driven brand identity, an AI strategist that speaks their language, and a motivation system that keeps them consistent without feeling forced.
For founders, the real takeaway is this: when product thinking, AI, and low-code sit under one roof, you unlock a level of clarity and execution speed that traditional teams rarely reach. You get a partner who can challenge assumptions, shape the right solution, and move from concept to traction without losing sight of long-term scale.
If you’re building a product that needs to scale personalization, integrate AI into real workflows, or bring multiple user roles together in one cohesive experience, we’re the team to build it with you. Let’s talk about your vision.
